An auspicious beginning to Aagama
May we hear auspicious (Sanskrit Bhadram) sound (energy) emanating from the GODS in all cardinal directions.”
The trumpet from the sacred Elephant is beginning of all auspicious events full of gaiety, joy and victories from commencement to the happy culmination of the festivities lasting not only for a few days but also for long spells of divine mirth to be savoured by the young and old, by the lay devotee as well as wise, scholars and pandits. Ganesha is the loving son of Parvathi consort of Lord Shiva. Ganesha circumambulated his mother, Parvathi, just once. Ganesha is the repository of all forms of wealth, wisdom, health success and happiness in all the ventures, petty and massive that we ordinary people hope for in our journey called life.
The prayers recited by the family and devotees are itself a pleasant experience which is followed by an exchange of greetings and lavish Prasadam. The prayers are recited in the morning and just before sunset in the evening.
A brief note on Ganesha.
There are 12 solar systems, across the vast creation - Mitra, Khaya, Surya, Bhanu, Khagaya, Pushne, Hiranya Garbha, Marichi, Aditya, Savitr, Arka & Bhaskara.
Ganesha presides in all the solar systems/creations.
Prayer to Ganesha is akin to prayer to all the 12 suns.
Let us pray to Ganesha for peace and victory “shantamu leka, saukayma ledu” ( TYAGARAJA KIRTANA).
Let us pray to Ganesha for peace and Harmony in the troubled world.
